Troubleshooting
Koya does not send a message
What to check when an announcement, a level up, a log or a feed alert never shows up.
The message never shows up in the channel
Section titled “The message never shows up in the channel”- Check that the module and the event are turned on in the dashboard, and that a channel is set.
- Check that the channel still exists. If it was deleted, pick a new one and save.
- Check Koya’s permissions in that channel. Channel permissions override role permissions. When one is missing, the dashboard shows Missing Bot Permissions under the channel, with the names of the missing permissions:
- Announcements: Send Messages, Embed Links and Attach Files (for the image).
- Levels and Logs: Send Messages and Embed Links.
Level up announcements are missing
Section titled “Level up announcements are missing”- Level up Announcement may be set to Disabled, or to Current Channel while the member was talking in one of the Ignored Channels.
- Members below the Minimum Level for Announcements get no announcement.
- With Only announce role rewards, Koya only posts when a member unlocks a role.
See the Levels guide.
Feed alerts are missing
Section titled “Feed alerts are missing”YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Reddit, Bluesky and RSS alerts are posted through a webhook: Koya needs the Manage Webhooks permission in the channel. Feeds are checked on a schedule, so an alert can arrive a little after the post or the stream starts.
Still stuck
Section titled “Still stuck”Ask on the support server with the module, the channel and what you expected to see.
