Chapters and goals

How the story is split into islands and chapters, and how you move forward.

Copied

The adventure is a story told island by island. Each island is split into chapters, and each chapter gives you a list of goals. Complete them all to unlock the next chapter.

/chapter view shows the chapter you are on, its goals and how far along you are. Use the arrows to look at the other chapters of the island, or at the islands you already reached.

When every goal is done, Koya tells you, and /chapter next takes you to the next chapter. /chapter dive opens diving, whose dives count toward the diving goals of a chapter.

Goals cover the whole game, so each chapter pushes you to try something different. For example:

  • Battles: defeat a number of enemies, a ⭐ MINIBOSS, a 🌟 BOSS, or face a ☠️ CHALLENGER or a 📙 PROFESSOR. See Battles.
  • Training: level up your weapon or its mastery, or spend will points on your haki. See Training.
  • Collecting: gather berries or colas, catch fish or den den mushis.
  • Activities: win at the casino or in the colosseum, claim daily rewards, build or repair your ⛵ boat, run expeditions.
  • Actions: some goals ask you to do something in the story, with /action.
  • Character: reach a bounty, check your wanted poster, customize your profile, unlock a crew member.

Some boss goals add a twist, like beating the boss within a time limit or landing the final blow with a skill.

A few chapters have a countdown. The goals list warns you before it starts, and the timer begins with your next action. If time runs out before you finish, the chapter starts over.

Once the last chapter of an island is done, it is time to sail to the next one. See Navigation.

/checklist view lists what is ready to use again: your energy and health, your daily reward, the vote, your reputation point, fishing, your boat, den den mushis, the colosseum, your quests and your log pose. Choose what it shows with /checklist add, /checklist remove and /checklist sort, or go back to the default list with /checklist reset.
