Koya does not answer a command

What to check when a command gets no reply, or a reply you did not expect.

  • Check that Koya can see the channel and send messages in it. Channel permissions override role permissions.
  • Type / and look for Koya in the list. If its commands are missing, a server admin may have restricted them in Server Settings › Integrations › Koya.
  • The command may be turned off for the server. Server admins manage commands in the dashboard: Commands, with role, channel and user overrides.
  • The channel or one of your roles may be ignored. In Moderation, Ignored Channels and Ignored Roles make Koya ignore every command there. Members with the Manage Server or Administrator permission, and the server’s mod and admin roles, are not affected.

Koya says I am not allowed to use this command

Section titled “Koya says I am not allowed to use this command”

A server admin restricted it with an override in the dashboard Commands module. Ask them to allow your role, the channel or you. Members with the Administrator permission bypass these restrictions.

Each command has a cooldown per member. Koya tells you how long to wait before using it again.

Some commands need Discord permissions of their own, such as Embed Links, Attach Files or Manage Messages. Koya names the missing ones in its reply: give them to Koya’s role, or in the channel settings.

A command does not work in direct messages

Section titled “A command does not work in direct messages”

Some commands only make sense in a server and are disabled in direct messages. Use them in a server channel instead.

Ask on the support server with the name of the command and what Koya did, or did not do.
