Reaction Roles

Let members pick their own roles with buttons, select menus or reactions.

Reaction Roles post a message where members choose their roles themselves: pronouns, notifications, games, colors.

Open it from the dashboard: Roles › Reaction Roles.

Pick your roles

Tap a button to add or remove a role. Pronouns are exclusive: only one at a time.

Create a reaction role

Section titled “Create a reaction role”

Click Create Reaction Role. A quick setup walks you through each step:

  1. Set a Name and the Channel where the message goes.
  2. Pick the Type and the message.
  3. Add at least one option.
  4. Optionally restrict who can use it.

Use the buttons at the top of the editor to save, publish the message to Discord, or discard it.

Type

Normal Adds the role, or removes it if the member already has it
Add Adds the role
Remove Removes the role
Unique Adds the role, but only one of the message’s roles at a time
Binding Adds the role, but only once

Message

Section titled “Message”
  • Post a new message: Koya posts a message you customize in the editor, with text and embeds.
  • Use an existing message: enter the ID of a message already in the channel.
  • Use the most recent message: Koya uses the last message of the channel.

Options

Section titled “Options”
  • Components: buttons and select menus on the message. Each option gives one or more roles.
  • Reaction: emoji reactions on the message.

Picking different actions for an option is a Premium feature.

Who can use it

Section titled “Who can use it”

Allowed Roles limits the reaction role to members with one of these roles. Denied Roles blocks members with one of these roles.
